A Baltic shipyard. Roaring steel presses and blazing furnaces. Only real men can stand the heat among the sparks of the welding gear: working class heroes. If anyone fits the bill, then surely Mirko and his mates Kai and Stulle. There are times when Mirko’s wife Rosa wishes he had a little less bravado and a little more finesse. But her husband’s rough and ready manners will soon be the least of her worries: Mirko is fired. The new boss has decided to cut back the workforce. The welders agree that the managers haven’t got a clue. They could do the job far better themselves. When management consultant Ute Götz’s car breaks down, she ends up in Mirko’s car. But before she has a chance to explain her plans for streamlining the company, the trio have taken her hostage. The plan seems perfect – a new management consultancy team is born! They want to tell the bosses that they have to revoke the redundancies. But Rosa, the manager’s assistant, has changed her loyalties to “the enemy”. They can’t expect any help from her.
