Rosa returns to her Baltic home after ten years abroad. Her parents have a little guesthouse there, and her siblings have stayed in the area. Rosa wants to talk to her father, who never forgave her for going to America. But on the day she arrives, Rosa finds her father shot dead. Horrific as this is, nobody in the family really seems to mourn the patriarch, and when Rosa discovers that her mother is having a passionate affair with another man, she fears the worst. Did her mother kill him? Daniel Douglas Wissmann’s screenplay is loosely based on the novel „Rosas Rückkehr“ by Barbara Krohn.
