Svein’s best friend Halvorsen – and Halvorsen is a rat. Almost everyone in Svein’s class can’t stand rats. But Svein thinks his unusual pet is really cool. Halvorsen’s penchant for nibbling at cables and wires doesn’t bother Svein as much as his parents. His friend Dan also has a rat. Together, the two lads undertake a research project: how to make a rat laugh. And then there were three: new classmate Melissa also loves rats, and suggests a “Pet of the Year” competition. But when Halvorsen escapes and causes chaos at school, Svein’s parents threaten to bring the clever rodent back to the pet shop. “Svein and the Ratte” is a imaginative and entertaining comedy that takes the side of the underdog – or should that be underrat? – whether four-legged or two-legged.
