Children´s and Youth Films, Denmark 2006, 85 Min., English subtitles, German commentary
13-year-old Katrine and her friends Nis and Mathias spend their summer holidays on the Danish island of Bornholm, where they make an exciting discovery. It seems that a secret chamber beneath a tiny village church is the hiding place of the long-lost treasure of the medieval Knights Templar. This is indicated by a map and by a ring that Katrine is given by vicar Johannes. Soon, the three friends are pursued by shady figures – and no longer know who they can trust. “The Lost Treasure of the Knights Templar” is a wonderful blend of adventure and thriller for children and young people, full of high drama, action and a touch of humour. The beautiful Bornholm landscape is mermerising. Look out for the cameo appearance by Peter Gantzler, whose film “The Judge” was screened at last year’s Nordic Film Days Lübeck.
