Hanna Reifgerst will take over as curator of the Children’s and Youth Film section for the Nordische Filmtage Lübeck. Reifgerst studied visual communications at the Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar. Since 2019, she has been the curator of the youth film competition for the Goldener Spatz German children’s media festival. She was previously the project coordinator of the subsidy initiative Outstanding Films for Children, founded in 2013. “The Children’s and Youth Film section is an important part of the Nordische Filmtage and traditionally provides decisive momentum in furthering media skills for young people in Lübeck’s educational network. So I am pleased to welcome a well-connected expert in children’s film like Hanna Reifgerst to Lübeck”, said Monika Frank, the city-state’s senator for culture and education.
Hanna Reifgerst will take up her new position on April 15, 2022. She said, “I am looking forward my new post because I have felt closely connected to the Nordische Filmtage since my days as a student. With its unique programming profile, the festival is an crucible of European film culture and simultaneously, an educational incubator for generations of Lübeck’s children and young people.”
Reifgerst is taking over the curatorship from Franziska Kremser-Klinkertz, who is moving on to new professional challenges. “We thank Franziska for her fifteen years of creative effort in Lübeck. She has left her mark on the Children’s and Youth section and elevated it to a special place in the network of European festivals for children and young people”, said festival directors Susanne Kasimir and Thomas Hailer.
