Changes in festival management at the Nordic Film Days Lübeck

Feb. 13, 2017 - The 59th Nordic Film Days Lübeck will see some personnel changes. Florian Vollmers has joined the festival management team and will take over as managing director on July 1, 2017. The 43-year-old Vollmers was most recently director of the Osnabrück Independent Film Festival (Unabhängiges Filmfest) and is an aficionado of northern European cinema. After graduating in media sciences and Scandinavian studies, Florian Vollmers worked as a journalist; he headed up the Nordic Film Days press and PR office from 2007 to 2012. After six years at the helm, Christian Modersbach is stepping down from the NFL management team on June 30, 2017; he will continue to work on special events, and on the new festival section devoted to TV series.

Lübeck’s Culture, Education, Youth and Sports Senator, Kathrin Weiher: “We set a new record with audiences of 32,000 people for 185 films and 250 individual screenings, proving that the appeal of the Nordic Film Days has grown significantly in recent years. We would like to thank Christian Modersbach for his passionate commitment and we’re pleased that he will still have a hand in the festival. In Florian Vollmers, we are gaining a proven expert in Nordic cinema and an experienced festival manager to keep us on our successful path and further develop the creative potential of the festival."

The 59th Nordic Film Days Lübeck will run from November 1 – 5, 2017, once again as the only festival in Germany or Europe presenting a programme of the newest films and television from northern and northeastern Europe.  www.filmtage.luebeck.de.
