Together with the festival’s organizers Linde Fröhlich (Artistic Director) and Christian Modersbach (Festival Manager), presenter Steen Bille (Danish Film Institute) welcomed the premiere audience, putting them into good humour from the very first instance. He presented this year’s NDR Film Prize Jury, comprised of the actor Florian Lukas, the directors Maria Solrun and Anno Saul, the journalist Volker Behrens, and the NDR editor Sabine Holtgreve, as well as the remaining six juries at Nordic Film Days.
The 500 invited guests at the premiere included Anke Spoorendonk, Schleswig-Holstein’s Minister for Justice, Culture and European Affairs, alongside consular representatives of the Scandinavian states. The audience also included the Swedish director Jan Troell and his daughter Yoanna, with scriptwriter and author Klaus Rifbjerg for the film “The Last Sentence”, the filmmaker Saara Cantell, also partaking in the competition in Lübeck with “Stars Above”, as well as the Icelandic directing duo Bragi Thór Hinriksson and Sverrir Thór Sverrisson with their film “The Magic Wardrobe” in the “Films for Young Viewers” section.
From 31. October to 4. November, the 54. Nordic Film Days Lübeck are introducing 149 films from 10 countries. Many filmmakers are travelling to the Hanseatic City, often in the company of their actors, to present their films to the festival audience in person. On Saturday, 3. November 2012, the eight awards of Nordic Film Days are presented during the Film Prize Night at Theater Lübeck.
