Lübeck, 19.09.12 – On 1. and 2. November 2012, “Lübeck Meetings” are once again hosting an international industry meeting as well as Industry Screenings at the 54. Nordic Film Days Lübeck (31.10.-04.11.12). On both days of the Industry Screenings, industry guests from Germany and the Nordic countries are shown current top films from the festival’s participating countries, including regional productions from Northern Germany. A broad framework programme provides an opportunity for the exchange of the latest developments of the German and Nordic film markets.
“Lübeck Meetings” provides producers with an opportunity to introduce films on their current agenda that have not yet found German or international distributors. With “Lübeck Meetings”, the 54. Nordic Film Days Lübeck have created a platform that is unique in Germany in its function as a market for exclusively Scandinavian or Nordic films.
“We are very happy to present “Lübeck Meetings” for the fourth time as an offer to the industry at the centre of the festival. Powerful films at the Industry Screenings for buyers and distributors and a precise examination of novel aspects of digital distribution and marketing strategies in Northern Europe keep opening up new perspectives for the own markets,” says Festival Manager Christian Modersbach.
The two-day event for German and international producers, film buyers and distributors opens with a discussion round, focusing on a Norwegian-German exchange on digitalisation. Entitled “The Digital Challenge – Aspects and Perspectives of Sales and Distribution”, German and Norwegian members of the industry present current examples of the distribution strategies of selected arthouse films and their experience with digitalisation.
On 1. November 2012, the first day of “Lübeck Meetings”, the discussion is followed up by the Industry Screenings, which carry on until the evening of the second day. The industry event closes with a co-production meeting by MEDIA DESK DEUTSCHLAND on 2. November 2012.
“Lübeck Meetings” takes place with the generous support of Possehl-Stiftung, Lübeck.
