Sandor und Ida könnten verschiedener nicht sein: Ida ist attraktiv und beliebt bei den Jungs. Sandor ist schüchtern und unauffällig. Ida feiert jeden Abend Partys, Sandor geht statt dessen zum Ballett. Er wird angetrieben von einer ehrgeizigen Mutter, während Idas Mutter sich dem Alkohol und ihren Depressionen hingibt. Ida hat die Schnauze voll vom Sex, Sandor ist noch „Jungfrau“. Sie lebt in der Großstadt, er in der Provinz. Die denkbar schlechtesten Voraussetzungen für eine Liebesgeschichte. Oder? Eines haben Sandor und Ida gemeinsam: Sie hassen ihr Leben. Bis sie sich im Internet-Chat kennen lernen. Mit seinem ersten Spielfilm hat Regisseur Georgsson eine hinreißende Love-Story gedreht. Dem klassischen Thema von den gegensätzlichen Liebenden hat er eine moderne, dokumentarische Note gegeben. Die Mischung aus Authentizität und Gefühl macht die Verfilmung des Bestsellers von Sara Kadefors zu einem besonders frischen Beitrag im diesjährigen Programm. Sandor and Ida are like chalk and cheese: Ida is pretty and popular with the boys. Sandor is shy and unassuming. Ida is a party animal. Sandor goes to the ballet. He is driven by an ambitious mother, whereas Ida’s mother wallows in depression and alcohol. Ida is fed up with sex. Sandor is still a virgin. She’s a city girl, he’s a provincial boy. These two are hardly likely to fall in love. Or are they? One thing Sandor and Ida do have in common is that they hate the way they live. That is, until they meet in an Internet chatroom. Director Georgsson’s first feature film is a delightful love story. He has given the classic tale of ill-matched lovers a modern documentary twist. It is this blend of authenticity and emotion that makes his adaptation of Sara Kadefor’s bestselling novel such a breath of fresh air. The two leading actors are a real discovery.

Regisseur Henrik Georgsson wurde 1964 im schwedischen Borås geboren. In den Jahren 1992 bis 1995 studierte er Dokumentarfilm-Regie am Dramatiska Institutet und arbeitete als Assistent des berühmten Dokumentaristen Stefan Jarl (NFL-Hommage 2004). Für das schwedische Fernsehen produzierte Georgsson eine Reihe von Jugendsendungen und Dokumentationen. „Sandor slash Ida“ ist sein Debüt als Spielfilmregissseur.

Director Henrik Georgsson was born in 1964 in Borås, Sweden. He studied documentary film directing from 1992 to 1995 at the Dramatiska Institutet and has worked as assistant to renowned documentary film-maker Stefan Jarl (NFL Tribute 2004). Georgsson has produced a number of youth programmes and documentaries for Swedish television. "Sandor slash Ida“ is his feature film debut.
