Inhalt/ Summary

Im Dezember 1945 bricht ein Schwede auf nach Europa: Der Schriftsteller Gunnar Wern lässt alles stehen und liegen, um in Berlin am Wiederaufbau des zerstörten Kontinents mitzutun. Zur geplanten Wittgenstein-Lektüre während der Zugfahrt bleibt ihm allerdings keine Zeit. Denn seine ganze Aufmerksamkeit fordern die Mitreisenden ein. Etwa das alte, heftig zerstrittene schwule Paar in Gunnars Abteil. Oder der zynische Arzt, der gemeinsam mit seiner Geliebten den Mord an seiner Ehefrau plant. Wie auch der schwer verwundete Soldat, den Gunnar bei jeder Begegnung noch um einiges schwerer verletzt. Oder der Trupp baltischer Flüchtlinge und nicht zuletzt der pedantische Schlafwagenschaffner. Nicht jeder von ihnen erreicht lebend Berlin… Peter Dalles Kriminalkomödie ist eine Hommage auf Jacques Tourneurs „Berlin Express“ und andere Films Noirs der 40er Jahre. Verbunden mit Slapstick und schwarzem Humor, kommt sie so elegant daher wie einst „Der Mord im Orientexpress“. Und illustriert zugleich brillant die Wittgenstein-These „Nichts ist notwendigerweise das, was es zu sein scheint.“

In December 1945 a Swede sets out for Europe. Writer Gunnar Wern leaves everything behind when he heads for Berlin to help rebuild war-torn Europe. He doesn’t find time for the Wittgenstein he was planning to read on the train, for his attention is taken up by his fellow travellers. There’s the bickering elderly gay couple, the cynical doctor conspiring with his mistress to murder his wife, the wounded soldier who seems to injure himself even more every time Gunnar sets eyes on him, the group of Baltic refugees and, last but not least, the pedantic sleeping-car guard. Not all of them will make it to Berlin alive … Peter Dalle’s black comedy pays homage to Jacques Tourneur’s “Berlin Express” and other films noirs of the 1940s. With a touch of slapstick and dark wit, it has all the elegance of “Murder on the Orient Express”. It is also a brilliant illustration of Wittgenstein’s assertion that “nothing is necessarily what it appears to be”.

Peter Dalle wurde 1956 geboren und ist Regisseur, Drehbuchautor und Schauspieler (zum Beispiel in „Shit Happens“, NFL 2000). Er arbeitet sowohl für das Königliche Theater in Stockholm wie auch für Fernsehen und Kino. Mit der Komödie „Lorry“ schuf er eine der beliebtesten TV-Serien der schwedischen Fernsehgeschichte. Frühe Kinofilme wie „Drömkåken“ (1993), „Yrrol“ (1994) und „Ogifta par - en film som skiljer sig“ (1997) waren ebenfalls große Publikumserfolge.

Peter Dalle, born in 1956, is a director, scriptwriter and actor (he played, for example, in “Shit Happens”, NFL 2000). He works for the Royal Theatre in Stockholm as well as for TV and cinema. He created one of Sweden’s most popular TV series of all time with his comedy “Lorry”. His early cinema films such as “The Dream House” (1993), “Yrrol: An Enormously Well Thought Out Movie” (1994) and “Unmarried Couples: A Comedy That Will Break You Up” (1997) were box office hits.
