Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck / Nordic Film Days Lübeck

Die Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck, 1956 vom Lübecker Filmclub erstmals veranstaltet und 1971 in städtische Trägerschaft übernommen, zählen zu den traditionsreichsten Filmfestivals weltweit. Sie sind das einzige Festival in Deutschland und neben dem später entstandenen Festival im französischen Rouen das einzige in Europa, das sich ganz auf die Präsentation von Filmen aus dem Norden und dem Nordosten des Kontinents spezialisiert hat. Alljährlich werden hier Anfang November vier Tage lang die neuesten Spiel-, Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme aus Dänemark, Finnland, Island, Norwegen und Schweden sowie aus Estland, Lettland und Litauen vorgestellt. Daneben gibt es ein umfangreiches Kinder- und Jugendprogramm und eine Retrospektive, die wichtigen Epochen, bestimmten Genres oder bedeutenden Persönlichkeiten der Filmgeschichte gewidmet ist. Begleitend finden Seminare, Diskussionen und Gesprächsrunden statt. Die Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck sind ein großes Publikumsfestival und ein wichtiger Treffpunkt für die Filmbranche aus Deutschland und dem Norden sowie Nordosten Europas. Viele der Regisseure, die in Lübeck ihre Debütwerke vorstellten, haben mittlerweile Weltruhm erlangt - wie Bille August, Lasse Hallström, Aki Kaurismäki oder Fridrik Thor Fridriksson. Die Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck werden von der Hansestadt Lübeck in Zusammenarbeit mit den Filminstituten und Filmstiftungen Dänemarks, Finnlands, Islands, Norwegens und Schwedens sowie den Filminstitutionen der baltischen Länder ausgerichtet. Die Schirmherrschaft haben die Botschafter der nordischen Länder in Deutschland. Ehrenpräsidentin des Festivals ist die norwegische Schauspielerin und Regisseurin Liv Ullmann. Medienpartner ist der Norddeutsche Rundfunk (NDR).

Vergeben werden der NDR-Förderpreis an einen Spielfilm besonderer künstlerischer Qualität, der Publikumspreis der Lübecker Nachrichten, der Baltische Filmpreis für einen herausragenden nordischen Spielfilm, der Kirchliche Filmpreis, der Dokumentarfilmpreis der IG Metall für einen gesellschaftspolitisch besonders engagierten Dokumentarfilm, der Kinder- und Jugendfilmpreis der Nordischen Filminstitute für die beste skandinavische Produktion dieses Genres zusammen mit dem Preis der deutschen Videowirtschaft und der von der Jugendministerin des Landes Schleswig-Holstein gestiftete Preis der Kinderjury.

Regularien:

Eingereicht werden können Filme, die in einem oder mehreren der nordischen Länder produziert wurden. Die Filme müssen jeweils im Jahr der Ausrichtung des Festivals bzw. im Vorjahr fertig gestellt worden sein. Die Auswahl erfolgt durch die künstlerische Leitung. Anmeldeformulare können beim Festival angefordert werden oder auf der Homepage der Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck heruntergeladen werden (www.filmtage.luebeck.de, Link "Info" - "Filmanmeldung"). The Nordic Film Days Lübeck, first presented by the Lübeck Film Club in 1956 and taken over by the Hanseatic City of Lübeck in 1971, has one of the longest traditions of any film festival worldwide. It is the only festival in Germany, and the only one in Europe apart from the event later founded in Rouen, France, which is entirely devoted to the presentation of films from the North and Northeast of Europe. Feature films, documentaries and short films from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden as well as from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are presented at this four-day event every year at the beginning of November. In addition, there is an extensive children's and youth film programme and a retrospective devoted to important eras, specific genres or famous persons of film history. Accompanying the film programme are seminars, discussions and roundtable talks. The Nordic Film Days Lübeck are both an audience festival and an important meeting place for the film industry in Germany and northern Europe. Many directors whose debut works were presented in Lübeck have gone on to earn fame around the world - such as Bille August, Lasse Hallström, Aki Kaurismäki or Fridrik Thór Fridriksson. The Nordic Film Days Lübeck are put on by the Hanseatic City of Lübeck in cooperation with the film institutes and foundations of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden as well as the corresponding film institutions in the Baltic countries. Patrons of the festival are the ambassadors of the Nordic countries in Germany. Honorary president is the Norwegian actress and film director Liv Ullmann. Media partner is the television and radio broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). The prizes awarded are the NDR Promotion Prize for a feature film of especially high artistic quality, the Audience Award of the Lübecker Nachrichten, the Baltic Films Prize for an outstanding Nordic feature film, the Interfilm Church Prize, the Documentary Prize of IG Metall for a particularly committed socio-political documentary film, the Children's and Youth Film Prize of the Nordic Film Institutes for the best Scandinavian film of this genre in conjunction with the Prize of the German Video Industry, and the Prize of the Children's Jury endowed by the Minister of Youth of the Land Schleswig-Holstein.

Regulations:

Films can be submitted which have been produced in one or more of the above mentioned Nordic countries. The films must have been made in the year the festival takes place or the previous year. Films are selected by the Artistic Direction. Film entry forms can be requested through the festival or downloaded from the homepage of the Nordic Film Days Lübeck (www.filmtage.luebeck.de, under "Info" and "Filmanmeldung"). Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein / Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein

Das Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein ist nach den Nordischen Filmtagen und den Husumer Filmtagen das drittälteste Festival im Lande und findet seit 1988 statt. Präsentiert werden Spiel-, Dokumentar-, Kurz- und Animationsfilme, die durch Drehort, Thema, Person des Filmemachers oder Filmförderung einen Bezug zum Land Schleswig-Holstein aufweisen. Das Filmforum ist das Schaufenster des schleswig-holsteinischen Filmschaffens und bietet den Filmemachern die Chance, ihre Werke auf heimischem Boden einem internationalen Publikum zu zeigen. Umfangreiche Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit wird durch die Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck geleistet. Filme aus dem Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein nehmen am Wettbewerb um den Dokumentarfilmpreis der Lübecker Gewerkschaften teil. Außerdem konkurrieren die Kurzfilm (bis 15 Min.) des Filmforums um den ComLine-Preis; als Preis stiftet die Firma ComLine Schnittsoftware im Wert von 800 Euro. Schon mehrere Produktionen aus Schleswig-Holstein wurden mit diesem Preis ausgezeichnet. Viele Filmemacher verdanken dem Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein die Einladung zu weiteren in- und ausländischen Filmfestivals. Viele haben hier einen Verleih oder Weltvertrieb gefunden. Nicht zuletzt ist das Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein auch beim Publikum außerordentlich beliebt. Veranstaltet wird es im Rahmen der Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck vom Kommunalen Kino der Hansestadt Lübeck mit Unterstützung der Ministerin für Bildung, Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur des Landes.

Regularien:

Eingereicht werden können Filme, die im Jahr des Festivals oder im Vorjahr produziert wurden. Sie müssen durch Thema, Drehort, Förderung oder Person des Filmemachers einen Bezug zum Land Schleswig-Holstein aufweisen. Eine Beschränkung auf bestimmte Genres oder Filmlängen gibt es nicht. Projiziert werden können die Filmformate 35mm und 16mm und die Videoformate Betacam SP und S-VHS. Filmanmeldungen und Sichtungskassetten (VHS) müssen jeweils bis gegen Mitte August eingereicht werden (für genauen Termin siehe Homepage). After the Nordic Film Days Lübeck and the Husum Film Days, the Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein is the third oldest film festival in Schleswig-Holstein, having been launched in 1988. The festival presents feature films, documentaries, shorts and animation films that are related to the Land Schleswig-Holstein through location, subject matter, origin of the filmmaker or film subsidy. The Filmforum is a showcase for the film production of Schleswig-Holstein and offers filmmakers the opportunity to present their films to an international audience on their own home territory. The Nordic Film Days Lübeck supply the films with extensive press and publicity coverage. Films from the Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein participate in the competition for the Documentary Prize of the Lübeck Trade Unions. Short films (up to 15 min.) in the Filmforum also compete for the ComLine Prize, consisting of editing software worth 800 euros donated by the ComLine company. Several productions from Schleswig-Holstein have been given this award. Many filmmakers have received invitations to other festivals at home and abroad thanks to their participation in the Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein. Many others have found distribution or world sales representatives through the festival. Not least of all, the Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein is extremely popular with the audience in Lübeck. The Filmforum Schleswig-Holstein is presented within the framework of the Nordic Film Days Lübeck by the Kommunales Kino of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, with the support of the Minister for Education, Science, Research and Culture of the Land Schleswig-Holstein.

Regulations:

Films can be submitted which have been produced in the year in which the festival takes place or in the previous year. They must have some relation to the Land Schleswig-Holstein through subject matter, location, subsidy or the origin of the filmmaker. The forum is not limited to any specific genre or film length. Films in 35mm or 16mm as well as in the video formats Betacam SP and S-VHS can be screened. Film entries and viewing cassettes (VHS) have to be submitted by around the middle of August (see the homepage for the exact deadline). The film entry form can be requested directly from the Filmforum or downloaded from the Nordic Film Days homepage (www.filmtage.luebeck.de, under "Info" and "Filmanmeldung").
