Mit einer feierlichen Eröffnungsparty starten am Donnerstag, 30. Oktober, die 45. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck. Auf dem filmFEST im Foyer der Lübecker Musik- und Kongresshalle erwartet Filmtagefans, Cineasten und Gäste aus Kultur, Politik und Wirtschaft eine bislang einzigartige Mischung aus Party und Film-Event. Das filmFEST beginnt um 20.00 Uhr, Einlass ist ab 19.00 Uhr. Karten gibt es an den bekannten Vorverkaufsstellen und für Akkreditierte am Infostand.

An inaugural gala party is being held on Thursday 30 October to mark the official opening of the 45th Nordic Film Days Lübeck. Film Days enthusiasts, film-makers, film industry professionals and guests from the fields of the arts, politics and business will enjoy an unparalleled party and film event. The filmFEST begins at 8 pm. Doors open at 7 pm. Tickets for the public are available from the usual ticket offices and for accredited guests at the Info Counter.

Talks im Offenen Kanal / Tägliche Sendungen | Talks live from the Filmpalast / Daily Reports
Seit Jahren berichtet der Offene Kanal Lübeck live aus dem Foyer des CineStar Filmpalast Stadthalle mit Interviews und Berichten über die Nordischen Filmtage. Die traditionellen Filmtage-Talks sollen ab Freitag, 31. Oktober, täglich um 15.05 Uhr von der New York Bar aus live übertragen werden.
Die "Filmriss"-Redaktion des Offenen Kanals Lübeck berichtet Donnerstag, den 30. Oktober, von 16.00 bis 18.00 Uhr und Freitag bis Sonntag, 31. Oktober bis 2. November, jeweils von 15.00 bis 18.00 Uhr von den Nordischen Filmtagen. Es wird auch wieder eine spezielle Kinderfilmredaktion geben, die sich besonders um die Kinder- und Jugendfilme kümmert.

For years the public broadcaster Offener Kanal Lübeck has reported on the festival live from the foyer of the Cine- Star Filmpalast Stadthalle. This cooperation will be continued. The traditional Filmtage-Talks at the New York Bar will broadcast live daily at 3.05 pm starting on Friday, October 31.
The "Filmriss" staff of the public radio station "Offener Kanal" will be reporting from the Nordic Film Days on Thursday, October 30th, 4pm to 6pm, and Friday to Sunday, October 31st to November 2nd, 3pm to 6pm. There will again be a special team covering children's and youth films.

Im CineStar Filmpalast Stadthalle an der Mühlenbrücke 11 ist neben den Kinos auch das Presse-Center der 45. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck untergebracht. Dort gibt es alles Wissenswerte rund um die Filmtage zu erfahren sowie Pressefotos und -material, Computer mit E-Mail-Zugang für Pressevertreter und Akkreditierungsausweise für die Medien.

In the CineStar Filmpalast Stadthalle at Mühlenbrücke 11 the festival cinemas and the press centre of the 45th Nordic Film Days Lübeck are all together under one roof. All the information you need about the festival is available there, as are press photos and material, computers with email access for members of the press and media ID.

Videobar umgezogen | New Location for Videobar
Das Fachpublikum hat wieder Gelegenheit, die im Programm laufenden Produktionen auf Video zu sichten. Die Videobar ist anders als in den Vorjahren im Museum für Natur und Umwelt, Mühlendamm 1-3, eingerichtet und zu erreichen über den hinteren Seiteneingang des Gebäudes (siehe Stadtplan, Seite 179). Die Videobar ist geöffnet am Donnerstag, 30. Oktober, von 15 bis 20 Uhr, am Freitag und Samstag, 31. Oktober und 1. November von 10 bis 20 Uhr und am Sonntag, 2. November von 10 bis 19 Uhr.

The videobar, offering video viewing of films of the festival for accreditied professionals, is now housed in the Museum für Natur und Umwelt at Mühlendamm 1-3 (see city map, page 179). Enter through the rear side door of the building. The videobar is open Thursday October 30th from 3pm to 8 pm, Friday October 31st and Saturday November 1st from 10am to 8pm, Sunday November 2nd from 10 am to 7pm.

Finntango-Nacht am 1. November | Finntango Night on 1st November
Tango aus dem hohen Norden - spätestens seit dem Finnland- Schwerpunkt des Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festivals 2001 im nördlichsten Bundesland ein Begriff. Die melancholischen und skurrilen Klänge sind nicht nur zum Hören schön, sie laden auch zum Tanzen ein. Jede und jeder kann mitmachen, denn Finntango wird vor allem gegangen und ist daher auch etwas für Nicht-Tänzer. Kunstvolle Verzierungen wie im argentinischen Tango sind dem Finntango ebenso fremd wie der Stechschritt des Standardtangos. Nach den Anstrengungen der Nordischen Filmtage, als Ausgleich zum vielen Sitzen kann da eine Finntango-Nacht gerade recht kommen. Am Samstag, 1. November 2003, lädt TraveTango e. V. ab 20.30 Uhr zum Finntango ins Haus der Kulturen, Parade 12 (unmittelbar am Lübecker Dom gelegen, fünf Minuten zu Fuß vom CineStar Filmpalast Stadthalle entfernt).

Tango from the Far North - a fait accompli since Finland was the focus of the 2001 Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. The strangely melancholy sounds are not only beautiful to listen to, but impossible not to dance to. Anyone can join in, because Finntango is more of a walking style, suited even to the uninitiated. It has neither the flamboyantly ornamental flourishes of Argentinian tango nor the stiff precision of the ballroom version. After sitting through hours of films at the Nordic Film Days, what could be better than letting your hair down at a Finntango Night. TraveTango e.V. invites you to join the dance from 8.30 pm onwards at the Haus der Kulturen, Parade 12 (right by the Lübeck Dom (cathedral), just a 5-minute walk from the CineStar Filmpalast Stadthalle).

25. Medienpädagogisches Begleitseminar | 25th Congress for Experts in Media Pedagogics
Zum Kinder- und Jugendprogramm der 45. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck bieten der Bundesverband Jugend und Film, die Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Jugend und Film Schleswig-Holstein und das Kommunale Kino Lübeck wieder ein Begleitseminar an, das Medienpädagogen und Kinder- und Jugendkinoveranstaltern die Gelegenheit bietet, neue Filme zu sichten und zu diskutieren sowie Empfehlungen auszusprechen. Das Seminar findet in diesem Jahr zum 25. Mal statt.

At the 45th Nordic Film Days Lübeck, the Bundesverband Jugend und Film, the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Jugend und Film Schleswig-Holstein and the Kommunales Kino Lübeck are once again holding a seminar which will offer media educators and operators of Children's and Youth Cinema events an opportunity of viewing and discussing new films and making recommendations. This year, the seminar is taking place for the 25th time.

Für die Gäste des Festivals und für Filmschaffende aus der Region bietet die Schleswig-Holstein Film Commission auch in diesem Jahr eine Lübeck-Location-Tour an. Im Mittelpunkt steht das St.-Annen-Museum. Auf dem Gelände der ehemaligen, 1502 bis 1515 errichteten Klosterkirche St. Annen steht seit jüngster Zeit die Kunsthalle St. Annen mit Bistro und Museumsshop. Zusammen mit dem historischen Teil des St.-Annen-Museums - mit Deutschlands bedeutendster Sammlung mittelalterlicher Schnitzaltäre norddeutscher Prägung - bilden beide Bauten eine einzigartige Einheit.

The Schleswig-Holstein Film Commission is again offering a Lübeck Location Tour for filmmakers from the region. It will focus on the St.-Annen-Museum. On the grounds of the former church of St. Annen, built in 1502-1515, there is now a museum of art, the Kunsthalle St. Annen, complete with bistro and museum shop.
Together with the historic section of the St.-Annen-Museum, which holds Germany's most important collection of medieval carved altars in the northern style, the buildings form a unique ensemble.

Koproduktionstreffen | Co-production Meeting
MEDIA Desk Germany wird anlässlich der diesjährigen Retrospektive, die einigen der wichtigsten Produzenten gewidmet ist, sein alljährliches Koproduktionstreffen ausweiten und deutsche und nordische Produzenten zum Erfahrungsaustausch einladen und über internationale Koproduktionen informieren.

On the occasion of this year's retrospective, which is devoted to leading producers, MEDIA Desk Germany will expand its annual co-production meeting within the framework of the Nordic Film Days, inviting producers from Germany and the Nordic and Baltic countries for an exchange of ideas on motivation and experience and informing them about international co-productions.
