Edith Carlmar tritt hier als Schauspielerin auf. „Gefährliches Fischerleben, oder: Ein Drama auf dem Meer“ war der Titel des ersten (um 1907) in Norwegen gedrehten Spielfilms, gefilmt von dem berühmten schwedischen Kameramann Julius Jaenzon. Den verschollenen Film ließ der damalige Direktor von Oslo Kinematografer, Kristoffer Aamot, rekonstruieren und erneut (in altem Stil) aufnehmen.Edith Carlmar spielt in der Rekonstruktion die Frau des Fischers, die Mann und Sohn zum Fischen verabschiedet und vom Strand aus beobachtet, wie der Sohn ins Wasser fällt und ertrinkt. Als der Mann zurückrudert, kann sie nur noch die Leiche des Sohnes umarmen. Diese Rekonstruktion ist inzwischen zu einer Ikone der norwegischen Filmgeschichte geworden.

Edith Carlmar appears as an actress in this film. “The Danger of a Fishermen’s Life: Drama on the Sea” was the title of the first feature film shot in Norway (c. 1907), which was shot by the famous Swedish cameraman Julius Jaenzon. The lost film was reconstructed by Kristoffer Aamot, former director of Oslo Kinematografer, and re-filmed in the old style in 1954. In the remake, Edith Carlmar plays the wife of the fisherman, taking her leave of husband and son, only to watch from the shore as her son falls into the water and drowns. When her husband rows back, she can only embrace the dead body of her son. This reconstruction has become an icon of Swedish film history.
