Inhalt/ Summary

Roald Amundsen (1872-1928) gilt als einer der größten Polarforscher. Er war der erste, der durch die Nordwestpassage segelte, und der erste Mensch, der den Südpol erreichte. Doch was nach außen so glanzvoll erscheint, hat auch eine andere Seite: ein Mann, der seinen Bruder betrügt, hartherzig ist, keine Liebe geben kann. Mit seinem Zynismus machte er sich ganze Nationen zu Feinden. Als er 1924 bankrott ging, schickte er seine beiden adoptierten Eskimomädchen einfach wieder zurück nach Sibirien. Sein Kommentar: „Es war ohnehin nur ein Experiment.“

When he went bankrupt in 1924, he simply sent the two Eskimo girls he had adopted back to Siberia. His comment: “It was only an experiment, anyway.”

Regisseur Stig Andersen, Jahrgang 1946, studierte in Olso und hat Dokumentarfilme für das norwegische Fernsehen NRK gedreht. Er hat an verschiedenen Festivals mit eigenen Werken oder als Juryleiter und -mitglied teilgenommen. Im Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh ist er mit dem Dokumentarfilm „Musikk blir bilde“ (1984) vertreten.Regisseur Kenny Sanders, Jahrgang 1946, studierte in den 70er Jahren Film in New York. Er hat als Regisseur von Kurzfilmen gearbeitet, als Drehbuchautor und Cutter für mehrere dänische Filme in den 80-er Jahren. Sanders war Autor und Regieasistent bei „The Changelings“ (1991) und schrieb das Drehbuch zum neuen Film „Misery Harbour“.
