Inhalt/ Summary

Die Jurastudenten Jens und Martin, so gut wie verlobt mit ihren Freundinnen Lotte und Kalinka, wollen das Schicksal noch einmal herausfordern, bevor sie im ruhigen Hafen der Ehe landen. Martins Ferienjob als Nachtwache in der Leichenhalle einer Klinik erfüllt ihren Wunsch, und zwar mehr als ihnen lieb ist: Inmitten der auf Eis gelegten Leichen erscheint Polizeiinspektor Wörmer zur Aufklärung einer brutalen Mordserie, deren Opfer dort liegen. Beunruhigende Zwischenfälle häufen sich in der Leichenhalle. Martin entdeckt, daß ihn der Killer offenbar auf die Probe stellen will. Die Situation gerät immer mehr außer Kontrolle, die Freunde sind längst in das Horrorgeschehen mit einbezogen. Der Überraschungs-Kinohit von Ole Bornedal zog in Dänemark mehr Publikum in die Kinos als Spielbergs "Jurassic Park". Der Erfolg reichte bis in die USA, wo man aber meinte, den Film erst einmal "richtig", das heißt neu drehen zu müssen, mit amerikanischen Schauspielern. Jedoch wieder mit Ole Bornedal als Regisseur.

Law students Jens and Martin, who are practically engaged to their girlfriends Lotte and Kalinka, decide they want to sow their wild oats one last time before settling down. Martin's summer job at the morgue seems to offer the right opportunity, but soon turns into more than they bargained for when police detective Wörmer shows up investigating a series of brutal murders whose victims lie in the morgue. When strange incidents begin to occur at the morgue, Martin starts to suspect the serial killer may be putting him to the test. As the situation gets increasingly out of control, the two friends find themselves in the eye of a terrible storm. Ole Bornedal's surprise hit sold more tickets in Denmark than "Jurassic Park". Its international success carried it across Europe and all the way over to the United States, where the film was picked up for a remake with a US cast, but still under Bornedal's direction.

Regisseur Ole Bornedal, Jahrgang 1959, begann beim Rundfunk und war von 1982 bis 1987 Regisseur von zehn Hörspielen. Danach wechselte er zum Fernsehen, schrieb und inszenierte TV-Shows, Kurzfilme und Fernsehspiele. Seine Stellung als Fernsehspielchef bei Danmarks Radio gab er nach dem Erfolg seines Debütspielfilms "Nachtwache" auf.

Director Ole Bornedal, born 1959, began work in radio and directed ten radio plays from 1982 to 1987, when he moved into television, writing and directing TV shows, shorts and TV movies. He quit his post as Head of TV Movies at Danmarks Radio following the success of his debut feature "Nightwatch".
