Obwohl der Hintergrund dieses Filmes Krankheit und Tod ist, handelt er vom Leben. Regisseur Endresen führt das Publikum ganz nah an Lars, Ingunn und Kerstin heran - junge Menschen, die gegen den Krebs um ihr Leben kämpfen. Er schafft eine sehr anrührende Dokumentation. 18 Monate lang begleitete Endresen die Gruppe. Wer den Tod vor Augen hat, der lernt, intensiver zu leben. Was ist noch wichtig? Nimmt die Beziehung zu den Familien an Bedeutung zu? Flieht man in Religion? Oder ist es nur noch ein Warten auf den Tod? Der Film erhielt beim Norwegischen Kurzfilm- und Dokumentarfilm-Festival Grimstad 1998 eine lobende Erwähnung und wurde mit dem Amanda-Filmpreis als bester norwegischer Dokumentarfilm 1998 ausgezeichnet.

Even though this film deals with disease and death, it is really about life. Director Endresen takes the audience very close to Lars, Ingunn and Kerstin, three young cancer patients fighting for their lives. He thereby crafts an emotionally compelling documentary. Endresen spent 18 months with the three. The prospect of imminent death makes them live their lives more fully. What else becomes important to them? Are their family ties strengthened? Does one turn to religion - or wait for death in resignation? The film received a Special Mention at the Norwegian Short and Documentary Film Festival in Grimstad 1998 and was honoured with the Amanda as best Norwegian documentary in 1998.

Regisseur Sigve Endresen ist als Autor, Regisseur und Produzent von Kurz- und Dokumentarfilmen. Er gewann seine erste norwegische Amanda 1989 für den besten Dokumentarfilm mit "For Your Life". 1995 zeigten die Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck seinen Dokumentarfilm "Große Jungen weinen nicht".

Director Sigve Endresen has gathered a great deal of experience as a writer, director and producer of short and documentary films. He won his first Norwegian Amanda in 1989 for the Best Documentary for his film "For Your Life." The Nordic Film Days Lübeck showed his documentary "Big Boys Don't Cry" in 1995.
