Schwedische Filme im Vormarsch
 
Die meisten Festivals sind darauf spezialisiert, Filme zu zeigen. Das ist natürlich die eigentliche Grundlage aller Filmfestivals. Immer häufiger wird auch ein Schwerpunkt gesetzt, zum Beispiel ein besonderes Land, Kinderfilme, ein bestimmter Trend, usw. … Dies wirkt manchmal etwas zu konstruiert und man fragt sich, warum gerade die Wahl darauf fiel.
Lübeck stellt dieses Jahr einige legendäre nordische Filmproduzenten in den Mittelpunkt. Dies wirkt ganz und gar nicht konstruiert, sondern klug und durchdacht. Es lohnt sich, die verschiedenen Rollen des Produzenten zu beleuchten und hervorzuheben.
Schweden wird in diesem Zusammenhang durch Katinka Faragó repräsentiert. Meiner Meinung nach eine selbstverständliche Wahl. Katinka hat seit den 50- er Jahren bei zahlreichen schwedischen Filmen mitgewirkt und mit schwedischen und international anerkannten Stars gearbeitet, darunter natürlich auch Ingmar Bergman.
Die Rolle des Produzenten ist wahrscheinlich die umfassendste in unserer lieben Filmbranche. Nur wenigen gelingt es, ein kreatives Klima zu schaffen und dabei die wirtschaftliche Seite zu berücksichtigen. Kreativität bedeutet auch, Verantwortung zu übernehmen und nein auf eine Weise zu sagen, dass alle gut gelaunt weiterarbeiten. Vor allem an dieser Stelle kann Katinka viel weitergeben.
Aber natürlich: die Filme im Fokus. Ich will gern behaupten, dass von schwedischer Seite aus eines der stärksten Programme bisher in Lübeck gezeigt wird. Unter anderem die internationale Premiere von Kjell Gredes neuem Film "Komm' doch mit mir", auch von Katinka Faragó produziert. Außerdem werden auch die Filme "Das Böse" von Mikael Håfström, der schwedische Oskar-Kandidat des Jahres, und Christina Olofsons Film "Hannah mit h" gezeigt. Dies ist bezeichnend für die gute Qualität der Arbeit, die die neue Leitung in Lübeck in den vergangenen Jahren geleistet hat.
Der Filmmarkt in Schweden wird von neuen schwedischen Filmen dominiert, die sich zu großen Publikumserfolgen entwickelt haben. Darunter sind zum Beispiel Daniel Lind-Lagerlöfs "Miffo", "Das Böse", "Slim Susie" von Ulf Malmros und der Film "Third Wave" von Anders Nilsson. Möglicherweise führen bald vier schwedische Filme die Topliste in Schweden an …

Swedish Films to the Fore
 
Most festivals specialise in showing films. Of course, that's the whole point of a film festival. Increasingly, there is a specific theme - a country, children's films, a certain trend, etc. Occasionally that can seem a little contrived, begging the question as to what on earth prompted this particular choice.
This year, Lübeck has turned the spotlight on some legendary Nordic film producers. Now that is anything but contrived - that is a clever and well chosen theme. It is certainly worth showcasing the various functions of the producer.
In this context, Sweden is represented by Katinka Faragó. A fitting choice, in my opinion. After all, Katinka has been involved in many Swedish films since the 1950s and has worked with internationally recognised stars, including, needless to say, Ingmar Bergman.
The work of the producer is probably the most all-embracing of any film industry job. Only a select few are able to nurture a creative atmosphere while keeping tabs on the financial side of things. Creativity also means taking on responsibility and saying no in such a way that everybody keeps on working happily. That is something Katinka has down to a fine art.
But let us get back to the Films in Focus. I would like to assert that this year's programme, as far as Sweden is concerned, is one of the strongest to be shown in Lübeck so far. It includes the international premier of Kjell Grede's new film "Make Believe", produced by Katinka Faragó, as well as Mikael Håfström's "Evil", which is Sweden's Oscar candidate this year, and Christina Olofson's "A Different Way". This is typical of the high standards of quality pursued in recent years by the new Lübeck festival organisers.
Sweden's film market is currently dominated by nine Swedish films that have proved highly successful at the box office. They include Daniel Lind-Lagerlöf's "Miffo", "Evil", "Slim Susie" by Ulf Malmros and "Third Wave" by Anders Nilsson. It looks as though four Swedish films are set to top the cinema charts in Sweden …
