Animation aus gutem Hause | Cartoon Films from Top Producers

Vergnüglich, intelligent, pädagogisch wertvoll und im Ausland erfolgreich, dafür ist das nordische Animationsfilmschaffen bekannt. Die Filme der diesjährigen Werkschau stammen aus dem Repertoire der in der Retrospektive geehrten Produzenten. 1996 produzierte John M. Jacobsen die märchenhafte Abenteuerreise Auf der Jagd nach dem Nierenstein, eine fantasievolle Mischung aus Real- und Trickfilm, und zwei Jahre später das Zeichentrickabenteuer um einen Detektiv, Sonny, der Entendetektiv. Aus dem Hause Per Holst Film kommen die Zeichentrickfilme Oliver & Olivia – Zwei freche Spatzen, inszeniert von Dänemarks Animations-Star Jannik Hastrup, sowie Hugo das Dschun-geltier – Filmheld wider Willen (1996), eine vergnügliche Familienunterhaltung. Und 1989 produzierte Katinka Faragó die Shakespeare-Adaption Die Reise nach Melonien.

Nordic animation is famous for its combination of entertainment, intelligence, pedagogical value and success abroad. The films of this year’s work survey are all productions of the producers honoured in the Retrospective. In 1996 John M. Jacobsen produced the fabulous adventure tale Chasing the Kidneystone, a mixture of live actors and cartoon characters, and two years later the detective story Gurin with the Foxtail about a gnome and a duck. Per Holst Film was responsible for the production of the cartoons War of the Birds, by Denmark’s grand master Jannik Hastrup about the sparrows Oliver & Olivia, and Amazon Jack 2 – The Movie Star (1996), a delightful family entertainment. And finally, in 1989 Katinka Faragó produced the animated adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Tempest”, The Journey to Melonia.
