Treffpunkt des Nordens | Meeting Place of the North

Die Filmauswahl für die 45. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck ist in vollem Gange. Im August werden wir bei den Internationalen Festivals in Kopenhagen und in Haugesund die letzten brandneuen Produktionen sichten. Aber schon jetzt sind wichtige Filme für die verschiedenen Sektionen bestätigt. Es wird spannendes und engagiertes und vor allem junges Kino geben: erstaunliche Spielfilmdebüts junger Regisseure, die Geschichten ihrer Generation erzählen und bemerkenswerte schauspielerische Leistungen aufweisen. Ein Wiedersehen mit den großen Erfolgen des nordischen Kinos bietet die Retrospektive, die einigen der wichtigsten Produzenten gewidmet ist. Jörn Donner, Katinka Faragó, Per Holst und John M. Jacobsen haben ihren Besuch in Lübeck zugesagt. Sie werden ihre Filme vorstellen und von ihren Erfahrungen berichten. Das Festival ist ein Treffpunkt der Generationen und Genres, der Filmfans und der Filmszene aus dem Norden und aus dem Nordosten Europas, dem wir durch die Kooperation mit dem FilmFestival Cottbus ein neues Fenster öffnen. Um das große Publikumsinteresse aufnehmen zu können, werden wir in diesem Jahr ein weiteres Kino bespielen und zur festlichen Eröffnung in die Lübecker Musik- und Kongresshalle einladen. The selection process for the 45th Nordic Film Days Lübeck has gone into high gear. In August we will see further new productions at the international festivals in Copenhagen and Haugesund. But numerous important films have already been confirmed for the different sections. There will be exciting and committed and above all young cinema with remarkable feature film debuts by young directors telling the stories of their generation and outstanding performances by young actors. The retrospective devoted to a number of leading producers will give us a chance to watch major works of Nordic cinema again. Jörn Donner, Katinka Faragó, Per Holst and John M. Jacobsen have accepted their invitations to Lübeck to introduce their films and relate their experience. The festival is a meeting place of generations and genres, of film fans and the film scene from the North as well as the Northeast of Europe, to which we will open a new window through cooperation with the FilmFestival Cottbus. In order to cope with the constantly increasing interest of festival visitors, we will be adding a further screen this year and will again have the opening gala in Lübeck’s Music and Congress Hall (MuK).
