Kooperation mit Cottbus | Window to the East

Nachdem die beiden wichtigsten deutschen Festivals, die sich auf große europäische Regionen spezialisiert haben, mehrere Jahre zeitgleich stattfanden, ist es in diesem Jahr gelungen, die Termine zu entzerren. Das 13. FilmFestival Cottbus – Festival des osteuropäischen Films wird vom 4. - 8. November 2003 im Anschluss an die 45. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck stattfinden. Roland Rust, der Leiter des Cottbusser Festivals, und Linde Fröhlich haben einen Programmaustausch vereinbart: „Wir freuen uns auf die Zusammenarbeit, die beiden Festivals ermöglicht, ein Fenster für Filme der anderen Region zu öffnen, und Gästen die Chance bietet, beide Veranstaltungen zu besuchen.“ Die Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck sind besonders gespannt auf den diesjährigen Russland-Schwerpunkt des Cottbusser Festivals.

After the two biggest German film festivals dedicated to major European regions have taken place virtually simultaneously for several years, we have now succeeded in untangling the dates. The 13th FilmFestival Cottbus – Festival of East European Cinema will take place from 4 - 8 November 2003, right after the 45th Nordic Film Days. Roland Rust, head of the Cottbus festival, and Linde Fröhlich have agreed on an exchange of programmes: “We are looking forward to the cooperation, which allows both festivals to open a window for films from each other’s region and gives guests the opportunity to attend both events.” The Nordic Film Days are especially keen on the Russian focus of this year’s Cottbus FilmFestival. www.filmfestivalcottbus.de
