Inhalt/ Summary

Ein Gruppe geistig Behinderter probt mit professionellen Theaterleuten für eine „Hamlet“-Aufführung. Dabei passen sie die Vorlage ihren eigenen Vorstellungen an: Neue Worte werden erfunden, und Hamlet bekommt einen Hasen als Haustier. Nach einem Jahr, einigen Tränen und viel Experimentierlust ist es soweit: Der Vorhang hebt sich, und für den Hauptdarsteller heißt es: „Jetzt bist du Hamlet!“Die renommierte Journalistin und Regisseurin Ulrika Bengts begleitet die Arbeit des DuvTeatern von den ersten Proben bis zum Premierenabend. Die Lust am Spiel mit Wahrheit und Dichtung sowie die Kraft der Kreativität weiß sie, auf mitreißende Art zu vermitteln. Übliche Maßstäbe für Ästhetik und Perfektion werden dabei spielerisch überwunden.

A group of mentally handicapped people rehearse a performance of “Hamlet”. They adapt the play to their own ideas, inventing new words and giving Hamlet a rabbit as a pet. One year later, after many tears and much experimentation, it is time to raise the curtain, and for the leading actor, this means: “Now you're Hamlet!”Renowned journalist and director Ulrika Bengts followed the work of the DuvTeatern from first rehearsals to opening night. Regisseurin Ulrika Bengts, Jahrgang 1962, studierte Journalistik und Kommunikation an der Åbo Akademie und Regiefach am Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm. Dort machte sie 1989 ihren Abschluss. Die dreifache Mutter arbeitete als Journalistin und Rechercheurin, bevor sie als Drehbuchautorin und Regisseurin für Film, Fernsehen und Hörspiel tätig wurde.

Director Ulrika Bengts, born in 1962, studied Journalism and Communication at the Åbo Academy and Directing at the Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm, where she graduated in 1989. She is a mother of three and worked as a journalist and researcher before becoming a scriptwriter and director of film, television and radio plays.
