and died together one day / und starben an dem gleichen Tag
Director: Pola Rader
Russia / Germany, 2021, 9 min.
Jury Statement
"The film takes us to a place at the end of the world. Taking place in front of a former military restricted area, the film uses stunning visual compositions to question the oh so fabled imagination of romance in a couple´s relationship. An older couple finds and searches for each other in between frozen industrial compounds, behind lametta, ice flowers and snow-covered fairy tale figures. The film convinces us with its combination of myth and reality. The Cinestar Film Prize goes to a film in the best nordic-bizarre (film-)tradition."

"Moin, we are the Childrens Jury of the 64th Nordische Filmtage. Our names are Marlene, Tommy, Anton, Raja, Assol, Lennja und Frida. In the last days we watched very different films. Some of them were sad, some were crazy, and some were funny. Two impressed us the most, but after a long discussion we came to a decision. This film is very imaginative and thought-provoking. The film adresses topics that are very important for us, such as friendship, as well as the desire to belong. The acting of the kids in the film were great and complemented the colorful and creative set design. That’s why this year’s Childrens Film Prize goes to: My Robot Brother"
