Grounds for selecting the winner of the Children's Film Prize of the Nordic Film Institutes

Lübeck, November 5, 1995 - "The jury awards its prize to the Danish production 'Belma' by Lars Hesselholdt, for the following reasotagonists and describes their questions, contradictions and learning processes. The empathetic screenplay creates a rich world of emotions that portrays the relationships between father and son, father and daughter as well as the young love and at the same time takes up the problems of exile and persecution. The open end of Belma's return to the theatre of war allows the audience to hope for a peaceful future in which Rasmus will be able to visit Belma.

The jury also gives a special mention to the Danish film 'Anton' by Aage Toft Rais. It has dealt very sensitively with a difficult topic: the death of a father. The director's first film is extremely well-suited for a young audience. We are also pleased to mention the outstanding acting of the young protagonist Jacob Oliver Krarup."
