Der Film erzählt die Geschichte von Otto, dessen Kindheit abrupt endet, als Frank, ein älterer Junge, plötzlich in sein Leben tritt. Zugleich ist es eine Geschichte über Väter und Söhne und ihr Verhältnis zueinander. „Zehn Messer im Herzen“ wurde bei den Berliner Filmfestspielen 1995 mit dem „Blauen Engel“ ausgezeichnet, in Rouen mit dem „Grand Prix“ und „Audience“ sowie in Montreal mit dem „Debutant Prize“. Der Film ist auch im Kinder- und Jugendfilmprogramm der Nordischen Filmtage zu sehen. Marius Holst besuchte die London International Film School. Seine Abschlußarbeit „Besuchszeit“ (1990) gewann den BBC Drama Award Grand Prix Potier.
The film tells the story of Otto, whose childhood comes to an abrupt end when Frank, an older boy, suddenly enters his life. At the same time, it is a story about fathers and sons and their relationship to one another. “Cross My Heart and Hope to Die“ was awarded the “Blue Angel“ at the Berlin Film Festival 1995, the “Grand Prix“ and the “Audience Prize“ in Rouen as well as the “Debutant Prize“ in Montreal. It is screening in both the main programme and the children’s and youth film section of the Nordic Film Days. Marius Holst trained at the London International Film School. His diploma film “The Visting Hours“ (1990) won the BBC Drama Award Grand Prix Potier.
