Drei Jungen auf der Suche nach einem Opfer für ihre Streiche. Das Beste wäre ein alter Mensch, denn die Alten sind doch sowieso schon halb hinüber. Die drei nehmen eine Frau aufs Korn, die gerade vorbeikommt, und beginnen einen Wortwechsel. Die Alte läßt sich aber nicht so leicht aufs Korn nehmen und feuert in einem saftigen Wortduell kräftig zurück. Am Schluß stehen die Jungen ziemlich belämmert da ... „Wer andern eine Grube gräbt“ ist einer der drei humoristischen „Schlingel“-Filme, die 1994 aus einem Jugendfilmdrehbuch-Wettbewerb des Norwegischen Filminstituts hervorgingen. Bent Hamer studierte Film, Literatur und Kunst an der Filmschule in Stockholm. Mit „Applaus“ gewann er 1993 in Norwegen die Amanda für den besten Kurzfilm. Auf den Nordischen Filmtagen ist auch sein Spielfilm „Eggs“ zu sehen.
Three boys are on the look-out for victims of their pranks. Why not some old person – they’re half way over the hill anyway. So they set their sights on an old lady who just happens to walk by. They start an argument with her, but the woman isn’t an easy target. She blasts off a broadside of words and gives them such a tongue-lashing that in the end the boys just stand there looking sheepish ... “Just for the Hell of It“ is one of the three comical “little rascal“ films that resulted from a youth film screenwriting contest put on by the Norwegian Film Institute in 1994. Bent Hamer studied film, literature and art at the film school in Stockholm. For “Applaus“ he won the “Amanda“ in Norway for the best short film. His feature film “Eggs“ can also be seen at this year’s Nordic Film Days.
