Als Vladimir, dem schnauzbärtigen Tourneemanager der schlechtesten Rock 'n' Roll Band auf dem Erdball, kam Matti Pellonpää 1989 zu Weltruhm, als es hieß: „Leningrad Cowboys Go America". Irgendwo in den Weiten der endlosen russischen Tundra warten die so katastrophal schlechten „Leningrad Cowboys" auf den großen Erfolg. Sie sind perfekt gestylt, doch sie haben kein Publikum, keine Chance auf den kommerziellen Durchbruch. Deshalb schmeißen sie schließlich ihren Nationalstolz über Bord und machen sich auf ins Land des Klassenfeindes, die USA. Eine ungewöhnliche Reise über den Ozean und den amerikanischen Kontinent beginnt, mit verkorksten Auftritten, einem tiefgefrorenen Bandmitglied auf dem Dach des Straßenkreuzers und jeder Menge leerer Bierdosen.
Matti Pellonpää achieved worldwide recognition in 1989 as Vladimir, the moustachioed tour manager of the worst Rock'n'Roll band in the world when the "Leningrad Cowboys Go America". Somewhere in the expanse of the Russian tundra the catastrophically bad Leningrad Cowboys are waiting for their big commercial breakthrough. They've got the style, they've got the class, but they don't have an audience. So they cast the last remnants of patriotism to the winds and head for the home of the class enemy. After a most unusual trip across the ocean, they arrive in the land of boundless opportunities and start a tour across the American continent, botching every gig, a frozen stiff on the roof of their limousine and trailing an endless supply of empty beer cans.
