Grußwort des Ministerpräsidenten des Landes Schleswig-Holstein
 
Die Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck sind bekanntermaßen ein weithin sichtbarer Leuchtturm des kulturellen Lebens in unserem Lande: Sie sind das bedeutendste Festival des nordischen Films in Deutschland. Sie sind dies geworden, weil der nordische Film von hoher Qualität ist, weil er einen unverstellten Blick auf die großen und kleinen Dramen des Alltags richtet und weil er dafür eine überzeugende künstlerische Sprache gefunden hat. Das Forum des nordischen Films ist damit zur Drehscheibe zwischen Nord und Süd geworden, zwischen Ost und West, und vereint an diesem Ort die maßgeblichen Kräfte des künstlerischen Schaffens aus den Ostsee- Anrainern. Für die Landesregierung Schleswig-Holstein bedanke ich mich bei den zahlreichen Freunden und Gästen, vor allem auch bei den Länderpartnern der Nordischen Filmtage, die sich seit Jahren in einem intensiven kulturellen Dialog mit uns befinden und die stets für neue Ideen und Konzepte aufgeschlossen sind. Ohne deren bereitwillige Hilfe und das tiefe Verständnis für die Sache wären die Nordischen Filmtage nicht das, was sie heute sind. Den besonderen Charme des Festivals macht sein Charakter als Treffpunkt der Filmszene aus. Regisseurinnen und Regisseure, Produzentinnen und Produzenten, Schauspielerinnen und Schauspieler sowie Branchen- und Pressevertreter aus den Ländern rund um die Ostsee genießen die Gastfreundschaft der Hansestadt und des Landes. Man erinnert sich: Viele junge Regisseure haben in Lübeck zum ersten Mal ihre Filme im Rahmen eines internationalen Festivals vorstellen können. Viele der skandinavischen Künstlerinnen und Künstler haben sich später einen Namen im europäischen Kino gemacht. Und darauf setzen auch heute die jungen Talente. Die Landesregierung Schleswig-Holstein fördert und unterstützt die Nordischen Filmtage auf vielfältige Weise, nicht zuletzt mit einem fest kalkulierbaren Finanzbeitrag. Diese Partnerschaft besteht seit langem und sie wird fortgesetzt. Ich bedanke mich bei den Förderern und Spendern, die nicht nachgelassen haben, dieses Ereignis zu einem glanzvollen und attraktiven Ort der Begegnung, des Austauschs und der Entdeckung werden zu lassen. Den Besucherinnen und Besuchern wünsche ich gute Unterhaltung.

The Nordic Film Days Lübeck are a highlight in the cultural life of our region. The festival is Germany’s most important showcase of Nordic film, having built its reputation on the high quality of productions that focus so uncompromisingly, and with artistic and aesthetic eloquence, on life’s dramas, great and small. This forum of Nordic film has become a fulcrum point where North meets South and East meets West, bringing together the rich creative powers of the states around the Baltic Sea. On behalf of the regional government of Schleswig-Holstein, I wish to thank our many friends and guests, especially the partner countries of the Nordic Film Days, for their commitment to this intense cultural dialogue and for their willingness to consider new ideas and concepts. Without their unstinting support and their keen awareness of the issues involved, the Nordic Film Days would not be what they are today. The festival has its own special charm because of the way it functions as a meeting point for the film world. Directors, producers, actors, distributors, film industry and media representatives from all the Baltic countries enjoy the hospitality of this Hanseatic city and the surrounding region. Let us not forget that Lübeck has given many young directors their first opportunity of participating in an international festival. Many Scandinavian artists have gone on from here to make a name for themselves in European cinema. And today’s young talents still look to Lübeck for that opportunity. The regional government of Schleswig-Holstein promotes and supports the Nordic Film Days Lübeck in many ways, not least of which is a reliable financial contribution. This partnership has existed for a long time and it will continue in the future. I wish to thank all the sponsors and donors who have so generously contributed to making this event an outstanding and attractive forum for encounters, exchanges and discoveries. I hope the visitors to the festival will have an enjoyable and entertaining time.
