NDR-Filmpreis - Begründung der Jury

Anlässlich der 47. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck 2005 vergibt die Jury den mit 12.500 EUR dotierten NDR-Filmpreis an:
 
Drabet / Der Totschlag / Manslaughter
 
Ein großes Thema, Schuld und Gewissen, wird mit Hartnäckigkeit und nah an den Figuren hinterfragt. Die Dichte des Drehbuchs und überragende Schauspieler führen den Zuschauer in einen ausweglosen Sog, auch der Selbstbefragung. Dieser Film in seiner gesellschaftlichen Brisanz lässt einen nicht mehr los.

NDR Film Prize - Statement of the Jury

On the occasion of the 47th Nordic Film Days Lübeck 2005 the Jury awards the NDR Film Prize amounting to 12,500 EUR to:
 
Drabet / Der Totschlag / Manslaughter
 
for the following reason:
 
A theme of great dimension, guilt and conscience is examined with tenacity and closeness to the figures in the film. The concentrated screenplay and outstanding actors draw the viewers into the story with an inescapable gravitational pull, forcing them even to question themselves. In its explosive social relevance, the film gets a grip on you.
