Baltischer Filmpreis - Begründung der Jury

Anlässlich der 47. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck 2005 vergibt die Jury den Baltischen Filmpreis an:
 
Äideistä parhain / Beste Mutter / Mother of Mine
 
Der Baltische Filmpreis für einen nordischen Spielfilm geht an Klaus Härös Äideistä parhain / Beste Mutter / Mother of Mine: Ein Film, der die Schicksalsentscheidungen eines Kindes mitten im Krieg auf einfühlsame und gedankenvolle Weise beobachtet. Der Film verbindet historische, ethische, individuelle und künstlerische Dimensionen der nordischen Kultur.

Baltic Films Prize - Statement of the Jury

On the occasion of the 47th Nordic Film Days Lübeck 2005 the Jury awards the Baltic Films Prize to:
 
Äideistä parhain / Beste Mutter / Mother of Mine
 
for the following reason:
 
The Baltic Films Prize for a Nordic Feature Film goes to Klaus Härö’s Äideistä parhain / Beste Mutter / Mother of Mine. In a subtle and thoughtful way the film observes the choices a child has to take as a refugee in the middle of war. The film brings together the historical, ethical, individual and artistic dimensions of Nordic culture.
