10 Jahre Kirchlicher Filmpreis Interfilm

Die internationale kirchliche Filmorganisation Interfilm wurde 1955 in Paris gegründet. Neben dem 50jährigen Jubiläum kann Interfilm in diesem Jahr in Lübeck ein 10jähriges Jubiläum feiern. 1996 wurde bei den Nordischen Filmtagen Lübeck zum ersten Mal der Kirchliche Filmpreis Interfilm vergeben: Der erste Preisträger war ein Film, der schon heute zu den größten Klassikern nicht nur des skandinavischen, sondern auch des internationalen Kinos gehört: Lars von Triers Breaking the Waves. Aus Anlass des zehnjährigen Kirchenpreis-Jubiläums zeigen wir noch einmal dieses anrührende und komplexe Melodram über bedingungslose Liebe, Opfer und Erlösung im „Special“-Programm. Eine Einführung in den Film gibt die Theologin und Filmkritikerin Dr. Julia Helmke vom Haus der kirchlichen Dienste in Hannover, die auch Mitglied in der diesjährigen Interfilm-Jury ist.

10 Years of Interfilm Church Prize

The international church film organisation Interfilm was founded in Paris in 1955. At the 47th Nordic Film Days Lübeck, Interfilm not only celebrates its 50th jubilee, but also the 10th anniversary of the Interfilm Church Prize, which was first awarded at the 1996 Nordic Film Days. The first film to receive this award has come to be regarded as one of the greatest classics of Scandinavian and international cinema: Lars von Trier’s Breaking the Waves. To mark ten years of the Interfilm Church Prize, we are screening this deeply affecting and complex melodrama of unconditional love, sacrifice and redemption in our “Special” programme. Theologian and film critic Dr Julia Helmke of the House of Ecclesiastical Services in Hanover, a member of this year’s Interfilm jury, will give an introductory talk about the film.
