Oscar-Kandidaten und Filmpreis-Gewinner

Für den Auslands-Oscar darf jede Nation pro Jahr nur einen Vorschlag einreichen. Diesmal sind fast alle Nominierungen aus Skandinavien auf den Nordischen Filmtagen Lübeck zu sehen: Aus Finnland kommt Beste Mutter, die anrührende Schicksalsgeschichte eines Kriegskindes von Klaus Härö. Die dichte Charakterstudie Kuss des Winters von Sara Johnsen ist der Oscar-Kandidat aus Norwegen. Und Schweden schickt Zozo ins Rennen, den autobiographisch inspirierten Film von Josef Fares. Wer den Oscar bekommt, ist noch offen. Fest steht, dass Per Fly für Der Totschlag, der am 3. November die Filmtage eröffnet, am 26. Oktober in Reykjavik den Filmpreis des Nordischen Rats erhält. Die aus Filmschaffenden und Kritikern aller skandinavischen Länder bestehende Jury befand, dass Flys dritter Spielfilm „ein großartiger nordischer Film ist, der von tiefstem Herzen über zeitlose Themen spricht.“

Oscar Candidates and Council Prize Winner

Each country can have just one nominee for the Best Foreign Film Oscar. This year, almost all the nominated films from Scandinavia are being shown at the Nordic Film Days Lübeck: Finland’s candidate Mother of Mine, the touching story of a war child by Klaus Härö; Norway’s candidate Kissed by Winter, a densely woven character study by Sara Johnsen; and Sweden’s candidate Zozo, a semi-autobiographical film by Josef Fares. Nobody knows who will get the Oscar, but one thing is certain: Per Fly’s Manslaughter, which opens the Nordic Film Days on 3 Novem-ber, will be awarded the Film Prize of the Nordic Council in Reykjavik on October 26. The jury, con-sisting of filmmakers and critics from all the Scandinavian countries, wrote of Per Fly’s third feature film: “This is a great Nordic film, which speaks from the heart about timeless issues.”
