Am Sonntag, dem 6. November um 10.30 Uhr im CineStar Kino 5, können die 47. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck ihrem Publikum eine besondere Veranstaltung anbieten: Die bemerkenswerte Dokumentation War’n Sie schon mal in mich verliebt? von Douglas Wolfsperger wird mit einem Vortrag des auf die Weimarer Republik spezialisierten Filmhistorikers Olaf Brill eingeführt. Der Film zeigt die Lebensgeschichte von Max Hansen, der als Kabarettist Hitler verspottete, und dann vor den Nazis nach Skandinavien floh. Er wird in Lübeck präsentiert in Zusammenarbeit mit Cine-Fest – II. Internationales Festival des deutschen Film-Erbes, das vom 12.-20. November 2005 in Hamburg stattfindet und dieses Mal unter dem Titel „FilmEuropa – Babylon“ Mehrsprachenversionen der 30er Jahre in Europa zeigt. Olaf Brill arbeitet für CineGraph in Hamburg sowie für das Deutsche Filminstitut in Frankfurt.

One who stood up to Hitler

On Sunday, 6 November at 10.30 am in CineStar Kino 5, the 47th Nordic Film Days will present a very special event: the remarkable documentary Did You Ever Fall in Love With Me? by Douglas Wolfsperger with an introductory talk by film historian Olaf Brill, an expert on the film history of the Weimar Republic. The film tells of the life of singer and actor Max Hansen, a cabaret artist who ridiculed Hitler, fled from the Nazis and made a new life for himself in Scandinavia. The film is presented in collaboration with “CineFest – 2nd International Festival of German Film Heritage”, which will be showing multi-language versions of 1930s European films under the title “FilmEuropa – Babylon”. The festival takes place from 12 to 20 November in Hamburg. Olaf Brill works for CineGraph in Hamburg and the Deutsches Filminstitut in Frankfurt.
