Ein Jahr zum Feiern | A Year to Celebrate

Das Jahr 2005 bietet – neben „100 Jahre Norwegen“ – Anlass zu weiteren Feiern: Wir ehren den berühmten dänischen Märchendichter Hans Christian Andersen, der vor 200 Jahren geboren wurde. Eine Hommage zum 75. Geburtstag ist dem großen deutschen Schauspieler, Autor, Musiker und Maler Armin Mueller-Stahl gewidmet. Das in Ostpreußen geborene Multitalent, das jetzt in der Nähe von Lübeck wohnt, hat in seiner langjährigen Karriere in der ehemaligen DDR, in der Bundesrepublik und in Hollywood Erfolge gefeiert. Im Fokus steht der Film „Night on Earth“ von Jim Jarmusch. Inspiriert von seiner Rolle des Taxifahrers Helmut, hat Mueller-Stahl zu dem Film 21 Lithographien geschaffen, die gerade in Los Angeles zu sehen waren und vom Kunsthaus Lübeck im Filmpalast präsentiert werden. In Orientierung an der „Ars Baltica“-Idee werden die Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck ihre Kooperation mit den Festivals in Cottbus und Warschau fortführen und ihren Blick nach Polen und Russland vertiefen. Dabei können wir in diesem Jahr auf die großzügige Unterstützung der Possehl-Stiftung zählen, die den Kreis der Partner und Sponsoren des Festivals erweitert. Zusammenkommen werden alle beim filmFEST, das wir dieses Jahr am Samstagabend in der MuK feiern.
 
 
The year 2005 offers – alongside “100 Years of Norway” – an occasion for other celebrations. We are honouring the famous Danish fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen, who was born 200 years ago. A tribute is dedicated to the great German actor, author, musician and artist, Armin Mueller-Stahl on his 75th birthday. The multitalented Mueller-Stahl, who, born in East Prussia, now lives near Lübeck, has had a long, extremely successful career in the former GDR, in the Federal Republic and in Hollywood. For example, he is unforgettable in Jim Jarmusch’s “Night on Earth”. Inspired by his role of the taxi driver Helmut, Mueller-Stahl made 21 lithographs on the film, which were recently displayed in Los Angeles and will be presented by the Kunsthaus Lübeck in the Filmpalast during the festival. Orientated on the idea of “Ars Baltica”, the Nordic Film Days Lübeck will continue their cooperation with the festivals in Cottbus and Warsaw and take a closer look at the film production in Poland and Russia. And this year we can count on the generous support of the Possehl Foundation, which has joined the festival’s circle of sponsors and partners. We will all come together at the filmFEST, which this year will be celebrated on Saturday evening in the Music and Congress Hall.
