On November 4, 5 and 6, 2004, the Apple Computer company is offering workshops on video editing, visual effects, DVD production and animation programs within the framework of the Nordic Film Days Lübeck.
The 3-hour, English-language workshops comprise training in the programs Shake 3.5, Motion, Final Cut Pro HD und DVD Studio Pro 3.0. The workshops will take place in the building complex of the Media Docks Lübeck (Willy-Brandt-Allee 31a, 23554 Lübeck).
Jean-Luc Bouchard and Dirk Ellis (Pro Applications Europe, Apple Computer) will be conducting the courses. Jean-Luc Bouchard was the contact person from Apple Computer for the Weta Digital team, Wellington, New Zealand, during the production of the Oscar-winning "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Dirk Ellis is looking after the Apple PRO Training Series in Europe.
Initiated by Mindnet OHG (www.mindnet.de), the workshops are being supported by Apple Center M&M:Trading! (ww.goapple.de), Media Docks Lübeck (www.mediadocks.de) and the International School of New Media (www.isnm.de).
Filmmakers from Germany and the Nordic countries can apply for the courses as of now. The workshops are free of charge. The courses are all full, so it is no longer possible to apply

Shake 3.5
This workshop is an introduction to the primary feature set and basic interface of Shake 3.5. Using visual effects shots from motion pictures, you will learn the process of integrating computer-generated elements with live action photography using motion tracking and color matching tools, as well as utilizing keying techniques to place blue and green screen shots against background plates. Most importantly, learn to create multi-layer composites using Shake's Node tree organizational structure.
This course is designed for attendees with experience in video/film effects compositing.
