Dokumentarfilmpreis der Lübecker Gewerkschaften - Begründung der Jury

Anläßlich der 46. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck 2004 vergibt die Jury den mit 2.500 EUR dotierten Dokumentarfilmpreis der Lübecker Gewerkschaften an:
 
Rotweinrock und Lammfellmantel / Red Wine Skirt and Lambskin Coat � A Documentary about a Laundry
 
Der Film stellt in eindringlicher Weise dar, dass in einem Arbeitsleben Kontakte, Spa� an der Arbeit und die Wertsch�tzung durch andere Menschen wichtiger sind als viel Geld zu verdienen. Es ist den Filmemachern gelungen, in ruhigen, fast statischen Einstellungen eine Atmosph�re zu erfassen, die dem fl�chtigen Besucher einer Textilreinigung fast immer verborgen bleibt. Mit den Bildern wird eine erstaunliche N�he zu den beiden Protagonisten und ein positiver R�ckblick auf zwanzig Jahre Arbeit erzeugt. Durch den hervorragenden Schnitt wird eine Spannung gehalten, die den Film zu keiner Sekunde langweilig macht. Eine weitere St�rke des Films ist es, ohne gro�en technischen Aufwand und Wechsel der Drehorte ein Lebensgef�hl eines Stadtteils zu vermitteln.

Documentary Film Prize of the Lübeck Trade Unions - Statement of the Jury

On the occasion of the 46th Nordic Film Days Lübeck 2004 the Jury awards the Documentary Film Prize of the the Lübeck Trade Unions amounting to 2,500 EUR to:
 
Rotweinrock und Lammfellmantel / Red Wine Skirt and Lambskin Coat � A Documentary about a Laundry
 
for the following reason:
 
The film shows impressively that in working life contacts, fun at work and esteem in the eyes of other people are more important than earning a lot of money. The filmmakers have succeeded in capturing in peaceful, almost static shots an atmosphere that almost always remains hidden from people stopping by at the cleaners. The images create an exceptionally close look at the two protagonists and a positive look back at twenty years of work. The excellent editing makes the film exciting, with never a moment of boredom. Another strength of the film is that it conveys a feeling of life in a quarter of the town without using too many technical means or different locations.
