Anläßlich der 44. Nordischen Filmtage Lübeck 2002 vergibt die Jury den mit 2.500 EUR dotierten Dokumentarfilmpreis der IG-Metall an:

Documentary Film Prize of the IG-Metall - Statement of the Jury

On the occasion of the 44th Nordic Film Days Lübeck 2002 the Jury awards the Documentary Film Prize of the IG-Metall amounting to 2,500 EUR to:
 
Jetzt bist du Hamlet / Now you're Hamlet / Nu �r du Hamlet
 
for the following reason:
 
Now you are Hamlet� Later you can be who you want to be. In this film about a new Hamlet production, Ulrika Bengts, together with dramaturgist Mikkaela, has succeeded in creating an outstanding portrait of a group of mentally handicapped individuals with a fascinating exploration of the respective roles they play, acknowledging with sensitivity and dignity the ability and imagination of each actor. Its humorous and light-hearted approach makes this film particularly moving, for it treats the group with dignity and respect, while avoiding patronisingly pious earnestness. The IG Metall Documentary Film Prize goes to director Ulrike Bengts for her Finnish film Nu �r du Hamlet (Now You are Hamlet) and, with that, to the dramaturgist of the DuvTeatern, to Elias alias Hamlet, to Irina the poetess, to Heidi, Robba and the others. May the puzzle be reassembled anew time and again, and may the kaleidoscope keep changing the way we see things.
