Könnte das nicht der Beginn eines Films aus der Reihe "Nordische Morde" sein? Schon der Titel der Retrospektive der diesjährigen Nordischen Filmtage belebt die Phantasie und weckt den Wunsch, die Thriller des Nordens kennen zu lernen. Die Bücher skandinavischer Krimi-Autoren liegen ja inzwischen auf Tausenden deutscher Nachttische - jetzt gibt es hier auch die Filme zu sehen, zum Beispiel die NDR-Produktion "Die weiße Löwin" nach einem Roman von Henning Mankell.
Zum 42. Mal holen die Nordischen Filmtage große Namen des internationalen Kinos und unverbrauchte Filme aus dem Norden für ein langes Wochenende nach Lübeck. Liv Ullmann, Ehrenvorsitzende der Filmtage, bringt ihren Erfolgsfilm "Faithless" ("Trolösa") mit: Der Film nach dem Buch von Ingmar Bergman bekam bereits in Cannes begeisterte Kritiken - in Lübeck zeigt ihn die Regisseurin zum ersten Mal vor deutschem Publikum. Ein spannendes Programm bei den 42. Nordischen Filmtagen. Das ist besonders Andrea Kunsemüller zu verdanken, die zum letzten Mal die künstlerische Leitung innehat.
Ich wünsche Lübeck wieder ein offenes filmbegeistertes Publikum - und sage: "Film ab!"

IScene one: November in Lübeck - mists closing in over the Holstentor - footsteps on the street - suddenly ... an arm reaches out from a gateway ... and ...
Could it be the opening sequence in a film from the Murder in the North series? The very title of this year's festival retrospective is enough to make most of us draw our collars up and set out warily to find out a little more about the chilling tales of northern Europe. These days, there is hardly a bedside table in Germany without at least one whodunnit by a Scandinavian author. And now they are taking over the cinema screen as well - enter "The White Lioness" based on a novel by Henning Mankell.
For the 42nd time, the Nordic Film Days have gathered great names of international cinema and unknown Nordic films for a long weekend in Lübeck. Liv Ullmann, honorary chairperson of the festival, is presenting her latest box office hit "Faithless" ("Trolösa"). Based on a book by Ingmar Bergman, it was enthusiastically accoladed at Cannes. In Lübeck, the director herself presents the film to a German audience for the first time.
All in all an exciting programme for the 42nd Nordic Film Days. Thanks in no small degree to Andrea Kunsemüller, who is acting as head of the artistic direction for the last time. I wish Lübeck an open-minded and film-loving audience. Take!
